Temporary Road Closure on S Manhattan Avenue and W El Prado Boulevard to begin March 26, 2018 for Utility Construction

A portion of S Manhattan Avenue between W Euclid Avenue and W Bay to Bay Boulevard and W El Prado Boulevard between S Westshore Boulevard and S Church Avenue will close on Monday, March 26, 2018, as part of a 3 phase Capital Improvement Project.  As part of Phase 2, the City contractor will install stormwater pipe and structures, sewer main and water main in S Manhattan Avenue between W Euclid Avenue and W El Prado Boulevard and on W El Prado Boulevard between S Hesperides Street and S Coolidge Avenue.  W Kensington Avenue will be closed at the intersection of S Manhattan Avenue.

S Manhattan Avenue between W Bay to Bay Boulevard and W El Prado Boulevard will remain open for local traffic only.

Access to businesses on S Manhattan Avenue located south of W El Prado Boulevard to W Euclid Avenue will be maintained from the south using S Manhattan Avenue. 

W El Prado Boulevard between S Church Avenue and S Manhattan Avenue will remain open for local traffic only from the east. 

Directional business signs will be placed within the construction area.

Sidewalks along S Manhattan Avenue and W El Prado Boulevard will be closed intermittently throughout the construction area. Pedestrians will be detoured to other available sidewalks with signage.

It is anticipated that all lanes on S Manhattan Avenue between W Euclid Avenue and W El Prado Boulevard and on W El Prado Boulevard between S Hesperides Street and S Coolidge Avenue will reopen to traffic by 4 pm on Saturday, June 30, 2018, weather permitting.

 

All 3 phases of the project are scheduled to be completed by September 2018.

 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use detour routes to avoid traffic congestion.
