Temporary Road Closure - S West Shore Boulevard to begin February 1, 2019 for Utility Construction

A portion of S West Shore Boulevard between W El Prado Boulevard and W Kennedy Boulevard will be closed on Friday, February 1, 2019, as part of the Upper Peninsula Stormwater Capital Improvement Project. A City contractor will be installing a stormwater box culvert, a sanitary sewer line and a water main across S West Shore Boulevard at the intersection of W Estrella Street. S West Shore Boulevard between W Melrose Avenue and W Clear Avenue will close at 8 pm on February 1, 2019.

A sidewalk detour will be in place during the duration of the work. The road will be restored and the sidewalk pattern will be returned to normal prior to the end of the closure.
In order to open S West Shore Boulevard at the intersection of W Estrella Street by Monday, February 11, 2019, construction will also occur at night. Property owners near the intersection of S West Shore Boulevard and W Estrella Street should expect an increase in noise from the heavy equipment.

It is anticipated that all lanes on S West Shore Boulevard will reopen to traffic by 5 am on Monday, February 11, 2019, weather permitting.
