Temporary Road Closures on Channelside Drive to begin March 26, 2019 for Road Construction

Tampa, FL (March 22, 2019) – The second and final phase of roadwork on Channelside Drive between S Meridian Avenue/Beneficial Drive and E Cumberland Avenue is scheduled to begin Tuesday, March 26, 2019, upon the completion of the Phase 1 work.  A private contractor will be milling, paving and paint striping the eastbound lane on Channelside Drive.  The eastbound lane on Channelside Drive between S Meridian Avenue/Beneficial Drive and E Cumberland Avenue will close at approximately 1 am on Tuesday morning, March 26, 2019.  

 

Westbound traffic on Channelside Drive between E Cumberland Avenue and S Meridian Avenue/Beneficial Drive including access to the Port and Sparkman’s Wharf will be maintained during construction.

 

The crosswalks on Channelside Drive between E Cumberland Avenue and S Meridian Avenue/Beneficial Drive will be closed during construction.  Pedestrians will be detoured to other sidewalks in the area via signage.

 

All lanes on Channelside Drive between S Meridian Avenue/Beneficial Drive and E Cumberland Avenue will be open to traffic by 5 am on Thursday, March 28, 2019, weather permitting.

 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
