Temporary Road/Lane Closures on W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and N MacDill Avenue to begin December 14, 2019 for Hospital Pedestrian Bridge Installation

A portion of W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard between N Armenia Avenue and N Himes Avenue and a portion of N MacDill Avenue between W Tampa Bay Boulevard and W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard will close at 12:01 am on Saturday, December 14, 2019 for Pedestrian Bridge Installation.  A private contractor will be installing a pedestrian bridge for St Joseph’s Hospital across W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard between N Gomez Avenue and N MacDill Avenue. 

W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard between N MacDill Avenue and N Habana Avenue will close at 12:01 am beginning on December 14, 2019. 

One (1) westbound lane on W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard between N Habana Avenue and N Gomez Avenue will be maintained at all times during construction for St. Joseph Hospital Access only, with delays.

The northbound right turn lane on N MacDill Avenue between St Joseph’s Women’s Hospital and W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard will also be closed during construction.

The sidewalks in the work area will be closed during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained via signage to other sidewalks in the area.

All lanes on W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard and on N MacDill Avenue will reopen to traffic by 11:59 pm on Sunday, December 15, 2019, weather permitting. 

The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
