TOMORROW: City of Tampa to Host Pre-Hurricane Season Press Conference

DETAILS: Following the very active hurricane seasons of 2017 and 2018 that saw devastation across the southeast from hurricanes Irma and Michael, the City of Tampa is preparing for the 2019 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
The City of Tampa asks its residents to prepare by having a hurricane kit at the ready and to have a plan ready in case normal life is disrupted by a major weather event.
Residents should also take advantage of the 2019 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday which runs from Friday, May 31 through Thursday, June 6. During the sales tax holiday period, qualifying items related to disaster preparedness are exempt from sales tax. For a list of tax exempt items visit www.floridarevenue.com/DisasterPrep.
