TPD Memorial Run/Walk Traffic Advisory

October 10, 2015 – Downtown Tampa and Bayshore Boulevard
The 21st Annual Tampa Police Memorial 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk takes place on Saturday, October 10, 2015. Motorists should expect traffic delays in and around the morning hours beginning at 5 a.m. due to street closures in Downtown Tampa.

Street Closure Schedule

  • Start/Finish Line Set-Up 5 a.m. – 1 p.m. 
    Madison Street between Tampa Street and Florida Avenue
  • Route Closure 7:15 – 10 a.m. 
    Kennedy Boulevard from Florida Avenue to Ashley Drive 
    Madison Street between Tampa Street and Ashley Drive
    Tampa Street from Zack Street to Jackson Street
    Ashley Street from Madison Street to Brorein Street 
    Brorein Street from Florida Avenue to Parker Street
    Bayshore Boulevard from Brorein Street to Rome Avenue
  • Roads expected to be reopened by 11 a.m.

5K Route:
From the starting line in the 200 block of Madison Street, the run route continues west onto Tampa Street. Runners will turn south onto Tampa Street until they reach Brorein Street and will turn right. They will then be directed onto the southbound lanes of Bayshore Boulevard. Runners will continue on Bayshore until they reach Newport Avenue and will make a U-turn into the northbound lanes of Bayshore Boulevard. They will run back to downtown to finish the route.

Drivers and pedestrians alike are advised to allow for extra travel time and to travel through the area with caution. To ensure public safety, the Tampa Police Department will have sufficient personnel stationed in and along the route to guide pedestrians and motorists through the area. Roadways will re-open to traffic as the race progresses and safety permits.
