Tampa, Fla (March 15, 2016) - The Mayor’s River O’ Green  and the Tampa Criterium will take place in downtown Tampa on Saturday, March 19th. The Mayor’s River O’ Green will begin at 11:00 a.m. at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and the cycle races will begin at 8:00 a.m.; however, roads will begin closing as early as 6:00 a.m. The following road closures are scheduled:

  • Polk St., Zack St., Twiggs St., Madison St., Kennedy Blvd., Tampa St., Franklin St.

Roads are scheduled to be re-opened by 8:00 p.m.

Traffic on the south end of downtown will also be busier than normal on Saturday due to other events at the Amalie Arena, Cotanchobee Park and the Tampa Convention Center.  In addition, the Florida State Thespians are wrapping up their activities in Tampa this weekend.  This event adds over 5,000 people walking and riding shuttles between three downtown venues.

Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians alike are advised to allow for extra travel time and to travel through the area with caution.
