End: Early December 2015
Harbour Island Bridge to Knights Run Ave.

The City of Tampa in partnership with the Harbour Island Community Services Association, Inc. (HICSA) will undertake the Harbour Island Roadway Surface Replacement project to make necessary repairs to the roadway immediately south of Harbour Island Bridge. The project will take approximately 160 days, with work anticipated to be complete by early December 2015.

Pedestrian access across the bridge will be maintained throughout the project, with the exception of the initial demolition which would prove a risk to safety. Temporary traffic enhancements will be made to accommodate additional traffic coming off Harbour Island at Meridian Avenue and Channelside Drive.

In addition to replacement of the concrete roadway surface, a waterproof membrane will also be installed to prevent water intrusion into the parking garage below. The City of Tampa will pay approximately $715,000 for the roadway repairs with HICSA paying $493,000 to install the waterproof membrane. Restocon Corp. is the contractor.

A map of the suggested alternate routes for Harbour Island residents is available at Additional suggested alternate routes will be shared over the course of the construction to take into consideration other ongoing downtown improvement projects.

Residents with questions or concerns should call the City of Tampa Contract Administration Department at (813) 635-3400.
