TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY - Water Transmission Main Segment 2 and Cypress Street Outfall Improvements Project
Start: Monday, February 9, 2015
Cypress Street between Hillsborough River and North Boulevard;
W. Cass Street between North Boulevard and the Cass Street Bridge
Tampa, Fla. (January 29, 2015) – West Cypress Street, from the Hillsborough River to North Boulevard, will be closed to traffic beginning on Monday, February 9, 2015. This closure is for installation of a new 36-inch water main as well as installation of a new stormwater system. Both projects are part of the City of Tampa’s Downtown Utility Capital Improvement Projects (UCAP). This portion of the work is expected to be complete in the spring of 2016.
For Julian B. Lane Riverfront Park parking, please use the temporary parking lot at the intersection of West Green Street and Laurel Street.
Due to the closure of West Cypress Street, motorists traveling east on West Cass Street into Downtown Tampa will experience a lane closure in the south lane between North Boulevard and University of Tampa University Drive. This lane will be used from 7:30 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. each morning for Tampa Preparatory School’s student drop off. One lane will remain for thru traffic into downtown Tampa.
The City of Tampa recommends that motorists use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
