The Tampa Water Department is continuing the valve assessment phase of this project, and will temporarily affect traffic patterns along the following streets for a brief period so as to not interfere with COVID-19 testing at Raymond James Stadium while it is open to the public:

  • Along West Tampa Bay Boulevard, starting at North Dale Mabry Highway and moving east towards North MacDill Avenue
  • Along North Himes Avenue, starting at West Tampa Bay Boulevard and moving north towards West Martin Luther King Boulevard

Detours and road closures will be clearly marked with signs and barricades to assist with traffic flows while this work is being performed. Traffic patterns will resume as normal no later than 5:00 a.m. on Monday July 13. The Tampa Water Department appreciates everyone’s patience as we upgrade the water distribution system.

This work is part of the City’s PIPES (Progressive Infrastructure Plan to Ensure Sustainability) Program and represents our continued commitment toward improving Tampa’s infrastructure.
