Update on shooting that occurred near North 17th Street and East 24th Avenue

VICTIM #1: Terrico C. Newson, DOB: 05/18/91, B/M, 4011 North 38th Street, Tampa

VICTIM #2: Kenneth Royal, DOB: 04/06/90, B/M, 2915 West Saint Conrad Street, Tampa

VICTIM #3: Joe Fussell, DOB: 07/10/89, 1905 West Spruce Street, Tampa

Victim #4: Jeremiah Hobbs, DOB: 06/16/95, 2117 West Cherry Street, Tampa

During an unsanctioned block party, a fight broke out which resulted in shots being fired. The four listed victims were struck as a result of the gun fire and were taken to the hospital by unknown subjects. Victim #2 was treated at the hospital and has since been released. The other three victims are still hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

The victims are not being cooperative with detectives at this time. Therefore, there is no suspect information to release. It is unclear what caused the fight to begin. The shooting does not appear to be a random act of violence. Anyone with information about the suspect(s) who shot at these victims is urged to contact the Tampa Police Department at (813) 231-6130.


The Tampa Police Department is investigating a shooting where four B/M subjects in their 20's were shot near the area of N. 17th Street and E. 24th Ave. Currently, 2 of the victims are in critical condition. Detectives are on scene investigating this offense and it does not appear that this shooting was a random act of violence. Detectives are currently working on obtaining suspect information.
