Video of Suspect’s Car in South Tampa Restaurant Burglaries

Suspect has hit at least eleven businesses
Video at www.facebook.com/TampaPD and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dp7sDugQa3g is the suspect’s vehicle from Matoi Sushi’s surveillance camera. It is a unique vehicle. Witnesses gave a similar vehicle description in several other burglaries. There is also a good still shot of the vehicle attached to this Media Alert.
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: Early 2000 Ford E250 or E350 one ton extended work van with a roof rack and damage to the passenger side door and fender. There are no windows on the sides or rear of the van. The van also has white wheels.
There are two additional burglaries to add to the previously released list.
August 11, 2011, around 12:30 a.m., 602 North Dale Mabry Highway, Matoi Sushi.
The suspect smashed out the front glass door and took cash from the business.
June 30, 2011, 2 a.m., 1108 South Dale Mabry Highway, Grillsmith
The suspect broke the glass door and rummaged through the office area. Nothing was taken.
South Tampa Burglary Suspect Hits Three More Businesses

The suspect smashed out a glass panel next to the rear door and pried open an inside office door. The suspect left with cash.
August 11, 2011, around 2 a.m., 2616 South MacDill Avenue, Datz
The suspect smashed the front glass door and searched drawers and cabinets. Nothing was taken.
August 11, 2011, 4 a.m., 2601 South MacDill Avenue, Subway
The suspect smashed the front glass door and pried open an interior office door. Nothing was taken from the business.

At 2:23, the suspect can be seen in the bottom left corner and at 2:23:15, there is a good shot of the suspect’s face.
Detectives believe the same suspect broke into several Davis Islands and South Tampa businesses. In several of the burglaries, the suspect fled when the alarm went off and officers responded. He left empty handed in the majority of the burglaries.

209 East Davis Boulevard
An unknown suspect forcibly entered the business by smashing in the front glass door.
July 23, 2011, between midnight and 9:30 a.m.
Royal Palace Thai Cuisine
811 South Howard Avenue
The suspect entered the business by smashing a sliding glass door. Once inside, the suspect ransacked the business and took cash.
July 24, 2011, 3:30 a.m.
717 South Howard Avenue
The suspect smashed a window and crawled inside. The suspect fled when the alarm sounded.

The Bungalow Restaurant
2202 West Kennedy Boulevard
The suspect smashed a window and entered the business. Once the alarm sounded, the suspect fled.

The suspect entered the business, but there were no signs of forced entry. He fled when the alarm sounded.

The suspect smashed the glass front glass door and entered the business. He fled with bottles of liquor.
