Wastewater crews are currently repairing a broken 6" sewer force main along N. Rocky Point Drive East. Barricades and signs are located in the area to assist with traffic flow. Please use caution when traveling in the area.

The repair work is expected to be completed later this evening with road restoration to be completed with a return to routine traffic patterns by Monday afternoon, October 13, weather conditions permitting.

A health advisory has also been issued for Ben T. Davis Beach due to the break and subsequent spillage, which has been contained. The beach has been closed to swimming. Patrons can still sunbathe on the beach or picnic, but it is recommended that they not enter the water. Signs have been placed alerting the public of the health advisory. Picnic Island Park Beach, located at 7404 Picnic Island Boulevard, and Cypress Point Beach, located at 5620 W. Cypress St., are open for swimming, sunbathing and picnicking.
