Williams Park Pool in East Tampa will be renovated and restored to service.

"I am proud that we are finally taking the first step in getting the Williams Park Pool reopened. We are going to make the necessary improvements so that the pool can be a safe and fun place for the entire community to enjoy again," said Mayor Bob Buckhorn.

The total project is estimated to cost $1.2 million. The contract for design will go before City Council this Thursday, who will authorize the necessary architectural and engineering services to prepare in advance of construction. Work will include repair and replacement as needed of the pool deck and shell, new pool operating equipment, operating and safety improvements to meet current health department codes. Repairs or improvements will also be made to the existing bathhouse building to meet codes and provide ADA accessibility.
