A portion of Bayshore Boulevard between S Howard Avenue and W Gandy Boulevard  will close beginning on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, as part of the final phase of the Bayshore Safety Enhancement project.  One (1) southbound lane on Bayshore Boulevard between S Howard Avenue and W Gandy Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 3 pm beginning on January 3, 2018.  A City of Tampa contractor will reset granite curb, install sidewalks and pedestrian ADA ramps along the west side of Bayshore Boulevard.  The Bayshore Safety Enhancement project includes two (2) ten foot (10’) wide lanes, five foot (5’) wide Tampa bike lane and speed reduction from 40 mph to 35 mph.  In addition to the road safety improvements on Bayshore Boulevard, the contractor will be installing stormwater pipe at the intersection of Bayshore Boulevard and W Wallcraft Avenue.

Portions of the sidewalk on the land side of Bayshore Boulevard will be closed during construction.   Pedestrians will be detoured via signage to other sidewalks in the area, during construction.

It is anticipated that the project will be completed in October 2018, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
