A portion of Bayshore Boulevard between S Howard Avenue and W Gandy Boulevard  will close beginning on Monday, February 5, 2018, as part of the final phase of the Bayshore Safety Enhancement project.  One (1) southbound lane on Bayshore Boulevard between S Howard Avenue and W Gandy Boulevard will close daily from 9 am to 3 pm beginning on February 5, 2018.  A City of Tampa contractor will reset the granite curb, along the west side of Bayshore Boulevard.

For reference, The Bayshore Safety Enhancement project will include, in future phases, two (2) ten foot (10’) wide travel lanes, one (1) five-feet (5’) wide bike lane, speed reduction from 40 mph to 35 mph, sidewalks, and pedestrian ADA ramps along the west side of Bayshore Boulevard.

Portions of the sidewalk on the land side of Bayshore Boulevard will be closed during construction.   Pedestrians will be detoured via signage to other sidewalks in the area, during construction.

It is anticipated that the project will be completed in October 2018, weather permitting.

The City recommends using alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
