The current annual water quality report was delivered to every Tampa Water Department account holder with their May 2018 utility bill. Customers who do not receive utility bills can view and download current and prior year reports at any time. Consumers also request a printed copy of the current report.
Water quality continues to be a primary concern of consumers across the nation. Tampa's annual water quality report summarizes information about Tampa's finished drinking water and the source water our community relies on. Protection of our source water depends on all of us. Here are three simple things each of us can do to help keep our source water as safe as possible:
- Use and dispose of chemicals and other harmful materials properly.
- Follow local requirements for fertilizer use.
- Irrigate efficiently to reduce runoff.

Drinking Water pH
The pH value is a measure of the corrosiveness of drinking water. The City of Tampa maintains drinking water pH values between 7.1 and 8.5 to minimize the corrosion of our customers' water pipes. See updated hardness and pH values on our water metrics page.
When the pH value is below 7.1, water tends to be corrosive and can damage metal pipes carrying the water. When pH is between 7.1 and 8.5, water is much less corrosive. Specific questions about the pH value of Tampa's drinking water may submitted online.
