Creative Arts Theatre is the City of Tampa's resident, professional theatre company for young audiences. A staff of 5 professional artists create and perform innovative theatre experiences, inspired by classic and contemporary children’s literature. Their mission is to encourage literacy throughout Hillsborough County through the magic of live performance.

Each year, Creative Arts Theatre presents over 200 performances at community centers, libraries, and schools, reaching an audience of approximately 15,000 people annually. Over the past 50 years, they have performed for more than one million children and their families. Creative Arts Theatre Company is a proud member of Theatre for Young Audiences/USA.

The Case of the Missing Fables
An original play by Creative Arts Theatre inspired by Aesop’s Fables

January 24 – March 2, 2018

missing,fables,winter,2018,cat,production Meet Marlo Phillip, the world’s greatest detective! She is on a mission to find the Polka Dot Bandit and recover the morals he stole from the only copy of Aesop’s Fables! Can she follow the clues, use her listening skills, and discover the lesson each fable teaches before the morals are gone forever? Full of laughs, adventure, and lessons; children will experience favorite stories such as The Tortoise and the Hare, The Ant and the Grasshopper, and more, all while solving a hilarious mystery and learning about basic reading comprehension. The show is best for ages 3 and up.

Classes & Summer Camps

Creative Arts Kids Creative Arts Theatre Company offers classes, camps, and workshops for children and adults throughout the year at the City’s community centers. Topics include acting, improvisation, musical theatre, puppet making, and storytelling. Summer Camp registration for Theatre Camps begins February 26, 2018.
