BAM! POW! Tampa Convention Center Prepares to Welcome 50,000 Attendees for Tampa Bay Comic Con including BIG Stars

Tampa Bay Comic Con is returning to the Tampa Convention Center this weekend in true superhero fashion! An estimated 50,000 attendees will visit the Tampa Convention Center over the weekend to share their love of all things comic and pop culture.

The event—which will feature celebrity meet & greets, cosplay contests, comic book vendors, and more—takes place August 3rd through 5th and will bring together fans and creators of all ages.

Some of the most notable celebrity guests include, Val Kilmer (who played Bruce Wayne/Batman in the 1995 Batman Forever), Matthew Lewis (actor of Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter Series), Rory McCann (a.k.a. “The Hound” in Game of Thrones), stars from Stranger Things, and more.

Tickets for the event can be purchased online at and kids 12 and under get in FREE.

Where to Park Your Batmobile

Promising an action-packed weekend full of fun, Tampa Bay Comic Con will attract an estimated 50,000 visitors from across the state to our facility. As a result, The City of Tampa has published a traffic advisory warning guests that there will be increased traffic congestion and limited parking close to the Tampa Convention Center due to the event.

Our Convention Center parking garage and the South Regional parking are both expected to fill quickly, so guests are encouraged to park their batmobiles at the Ft Brooke Garage, just a few blocks from our facility.

The Tampa Streetcar also has a stop right outside the Ft Brooke Garage that can take you directly to the Tampa Convention Center (via Dick Greco Plaza). The streetcar is FREE on Saturdays.

Drop-Off Zone

Those planning to be dropped off at the event (via Uber, Lyft, taxi, family/friend, etc) can utilize one of the following drop off zones:

  • The best drop off locations are anywhere north of Brorein and Franklin 
  • Selmon Expressway West Parking Lot: 301 S. Florida Avenue (Entrance:  Intersection of Tampa & Brorein Street)
  • Selmon Expressway Bill Changer Parking Lot: 202 S. Tampa Street (South Tampa & South Franklin Streets)
  • Tampa Convention Center – Front Circle Drive (when opened): 333 S. Franklin Street
