Construction is well underway for Harpoon Harry’s—a new seafood restaurant coming to the Tampa Convention Center. The restaurant, which is currently projected to open in November of this year, will feature a fun, family-friendly atmosphere, open-air concept, and nearly 500 seats.
The owners, Smugglers Enterprise, are planning to spend around $3.6 million dollars on the project, which includes converting 18,000 square feet of former storage space. The new open-air restaurant will feature roll up windows, a sushi bar, and a main bar stylized around a 1926 truck. In addition to the ground floor, Harpoon Harry’s will also feature a second level with balconies overlooking Franklin St.
This will be Harpoon Harry’s second location, having earned massive success with their first Crab House restaurant in Punta Gorda. Just yesterday, the restaurant announced their new executive chef, Eric Lackey, and general manager, John Lillibridge.
