Green, green, and more green! Between the Mayor’s River O’Green Festival in Curits Hixon Park and the Slime Rodeo at the Tampa Convention Center, we're feeling luckier than a four-leaf clover to be in Tampa this weekend!
St Patrick’s Day weekend will be an exciting time to visit Tampa Bay, with events and activities for the whole family. At the Tampa Convention Center, the Slime Rodeo and MagicFest will bring together fandoms for a weekend packed with fun; while just outside our building, the Hillsborough River will sport its best shade of green for the Mayor’s River O’Green Festival.
Slime Rodeo: Parents, are your kids obsessed with slime? Don’t miss the Slime Rodeo March 16th at the Tampa Convention Center, featuring DIY slime stations, slime-lebrity meet and greets, the Slimey Awards and more. Learn more and purchase tickets at: http://slimerodeo.com/
MagicFest: Calling all wizards! #MagicFest is coming to the Tampa Convention Center Mar 15-17, offering a prime opportunity for Magic: The Gathering fans to meet, trade cards, and play. #MGTTampa is free to attend. Learn more: http://bit.ly/2O1OFhJ
River O’Green: We love being located on the Hillsborough River, but we feel especially lucky during the Mayor’s River O’Green Fest! If you're planning to visit Tampa Bay this weekend, watch the river turn GREEN on Saturday, March 16th, in honor of St Paddy’s!
River O’Green Fest is an annual St Patrick’s Day tradition where the City of Tampa dyes the Hillsborough River green using environmentally safe, non-toxic dye. Free activities will be set up in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, including live music, a kid’s scavenger hunt, a leprechaun costume contest, and more.
Convention-goers can visit the park by taking a short walk along the Tampa Riverwalk, or hopping aboard the Pirate Water Taxi. Learn more about River O’Green at http://riverogreen.com/
Due to various events in Tampa’s Downtown (including convention center events, the Mayor’s River O’Green Fest, and a Tampa Bay Lightning game on Saturday) there will be increased traffic in Tampa’s Downtown this weekend.
Convention-goers are encouraged to have a transportation plan and know where to park ahead of time. Our Convention Center garage may fill quickly, however, the Ft Brook Garage and the South Regional Garage are affordable options nearby our building. See our parking guide: http://bit.ly/2BJvNxq
Visitors can also park in the Channel District or Ybor and take the Tampa Streetcar to our building for free. The streetcar is free for all riders with service every 15 mins. Dick Greco Plaza station is located right outside our building. Learn more about the streetcar at: www.tecolinestreetcar.org
