East West Green Spine Cycle Track

The project consists of an urban trail/cycle track along Cass Street, Nuccio Parkway, and 15th Street to connect North Hyde Park from Howard and Armenia Avenues as well as Tampa Heights, Ragan Park, and VM Ybor to the Hillsborough River. The cycle track would begin at Howard Ave and Cass St. near the Armory. It will follow Cass St. into downtown to Nebraska Ave, then Nuccio Parkway into Ybor City, then 15th St. to Cuscaden Park at 21st Ave. The project was conceptualized as part of the InVision Tampa Center City Plan to provide pedestrian and bicycle access between N. Hyde Park, Downtown, and Ybor City. It will provide a safe and accessible bicycle connection to the Tampa Riverwalk and a safe connection between neighborhoods.

The downtown segment from east of the Cass St. Bridge to Nebraska Avenue, has been constructed as part of the Tyler Street and Cass Street Two-Way conversion project. The quarter-mile segment between N. Boulevard and Ashley Dr., including the Cass Street Bridge, was completed by the City of Tampa's Mobility Department as part of the City's "Quick Build" Program in January 2023. Tampa's Quick Build Program uses ready transportation materials like paint, signs, and pavement markings in a shorter time and at a lower cost than traditional projects. The design for this segment draws on new, nationally recognized standards for safe street design.

Excepting the 0.8-mile segment being constructed as part of the Cass St./Tyler St. Two-Way Conversion project, the net length of the project 2.6 miles. The total length of the project will be approximately 3.4 miles.
