Construction Services, a division of the Planning and Development Department, is a one-stop shop for all construction permit and inspection needs. The division reviews construction plans, issues permits, and performs inspections to ensure building projects are built safely and in compliance with state and local codes and regulations helping to create a vibrant, livable, and safe-built community. Whether you are remodeling a home, building your dream house, or constructing a high-rise building, we look forward to serving you.

New Online Permitting System is Here

The Construction Services Division has recently implemented a new, state-of-the-art permitting system called Accela that will tremendously benefit our Building clients. Visit us today at aca.tampagov.net to register for a new user account. Registered users will be able to do the following online: 

  • Apply for permits
  • Schedule and cancel inspections
  • Check the status of projects in real time
  • Pay fees

Notice to our Clients

North Boulevard Road Closure: March 23, 2015 - December 2015

As a result of construction on a new water main and new stormwater system, North Boulevard Avenue between Cypress Street and West Cass Street will be closed from March 23, 2015 to December 2015. This road closure will undoubtedly affect some of our valued clients traveling to the Construction Services Center, particular those commuting from South Tampa.

Please be mindful of this construction and the travel delays it may cause during the course of the next several months. Clients interested in receiving weekly email updates about this water main and stormwater project, such as active construction areas, road closures, and other pertinent details, can choose to do so by emailing a request to:
