The City of Tampa is the county seat and largest city in Hillsborough County, and is the third most populous city in Florida. Approximately one-third of Hillsborough County's population resides in the City of Tampa.

The City of Tampa is the economic hub of west central Florida. Its economy is founded on a diverse base that includes tourism, agriculture, construction, finance, health care, technology, and maritime industry.

The City of Tampa works in partnership with the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation and the Tampa Bay Partnership to promote job creation and to ensure a healthy regional economy.

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

The City of Tampa is actively seeking properties considered for development to include in their Brownfields Program. The City of Tampa has received $400,000 in assessment funding ($200,000 for hazardous substances and $200,000 for petroleum) through the EPA Brownfields Program. The CRA Facade Improvement Program provides property owners with financial assistance (grant) to improve the appearance of their properties in designated areas of Tampa's Community Redevelopment Area (CRAs).
