Tampa Police investigated a traffic fatality at N. 45th St. and E. Hillsborough Ave. just before 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
The driver of a green Saturn Ion, a white male in his mid-80s, was making a right-hand turn (eastbound) onto Hillsborough Ave. A motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Hillsborough Ave. The motorcycle struck the driver-side, front quarter panel of the Saturn.
Tampa Police arrived and immediately provided first aid to the motorcyclist, a white male in his mid-20s. However, he died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the Saturn remained on-scene, cooperating with the investigation.
This remains an active investigation with possible charges pending.
