TAMPA, Fla.- On October 23, 2023, Tampa Police officers with the Fugitive Apprehension Unit arrested Mark Terrence Franklin, Jr (DOB: 8/17/1999) in connection to a deadly shooting.
On September 24, 2023, at approximately 3:15 a.m., officers responded to the Scruggs Manor apartment complex on N. 22nd St. in reference to a deceased adult male. Upon officers' arrival, the adult male was located with a fatal gunshot wound.
During their investigation, officers interviewed several witnesses who stated Franklin was involved in an argument with the victim prior to the shooting.
Additional witnesses positively identified Franklin as the shooter.
Franklin is charged with First Degree Murder and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
