Just before 8:30 am, Tampa Police Officers responded to a fatal traffic crash at W. Hillsborough Ave and N Church St., where they located an adult female who had been struck by a vehicle, unresponsive in the roadway. Lifesaving measures were performed, and the victim was transported to a local hospital. However, she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene. The cause of the crash is still under investigation. Westbound traffic at W Hillsborough Ave near N Church St was diverted during the investigation.
