Tampa Police Release Stats From Increased Ybor Patrol

In response to the incident on October 29, 2023, Tampa Police increased patrol and officer presence throughout the Historic Ybor City District over the weekend. With assistance from neighboring law enforcement agencies, approximately 100 officers were patrolling in their vehicles as well as foot, bike, and horseback.

Through their proactive efforts, officers were able to make a number of stops which led to several arrests, including the felony arrest of two 16-year-old males.

 

Stats following the increased the patrol:

-Traffic Stops: 210

-Recovered Guns: 1

-Felony Arrests: 11

-Misdemeanor Arrests: 17

 

“Today, marks one week since the tragic incident. There are two families who grieve the unfathomable loss of their child and countless other victims whose lives will never be the same,” said Chief Lee Bercaw. “In the hopes of preventing a similar incident from happening again, we will continue to proactively patrol throughout the entire city and ensure that the City of Tampa remains a safe and enjoyable place for residents and visitors.”
