Street Dedication Ceremony Recognizes Champion of Inclusivity, J. Clifford MacDonald

City of Tampa officials will gather for a street renaming dedication ceremony, honoring the late J. Clifford MacDonald, a revered advocate for disability rights and community empowerment.

Tampa City Councilmembers alongside representatives from the MacDonald Training Center, will convene to pay homage to his contributions to fostering inclusivity and championing the rights of individuals with disabilities.

J. Clifford MacDonald is the founder of the MacDonald Training Center which is dedicated to transforming the lives of people with all disabilities through innovations in vocational training, employment services, residential supports and life enrichment opportunities.

"We gather to celebrate the enduring legacy of J. Clifford MacDonald, whose advocacy paved the way for a more inclusive and compassionate community," Councilman Luis Viera said. "This street renaming is a testament to his profound impact and everlasting dedication to uplifting the lives of those around him."

The ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2023 at the MacDonald Training Center, located at 5420 W. Cypress St.
