Ballast Point Park
Situated on the east coast of South Tampa, Ballast Point Park features a 600 foot pier, a shaded splash park, playground, picnic areas, a gazebo, a boat dock, a boat ramp and features stunning sunrises over Hillsborough Bay and an impressive view of downtown Tampa. The Taste of Boston restaurant offers food, snacks and bait.

Free and open 24 hours, 7 days a week (the rest of the park is open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.) the fishing pier is well lit and has an overabundance of space. Florida saltwater fishing licenses are required. Equipment rental is available.
The partially shaded playground offers hours of fun with slides, monkey bars, bridges, swings and a lot of things to climb upon. The padded deck makes accidents less painful, too.
When it's hot, the kids can cool off at the splash pad which features colorful flowers which shoot out cool water. Surrounding benches offer parents a great vantage point.
Some shelters with grills and picnic tables are first-come, first-served and others are available by reservation. Reservations are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and must be made three days in advance and can be one year out. Reserve now...
The octagonal gazebo is situated in a shady spot near the playground and is ideal for those really special occasions. The domed roof features ornate support pillars along with wooden railings. The gazebo is unfurnished. To reserve, please call (813) 274-8184.
